Swiss scientists have developed a robot. It has been inspired by a grasshopper. The robot is tiny measuring 7 g. It has been developed by Laboratory of Intelligent Systems at EPFL. A conference was held called IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation in Pasadena, California.
The abilities of the robot are:
- It can jump 1.4 m.
- It is 10 times farther in size.
- It may be fitted with tiny sensors to explore rough, inaccessible terrain.
- It will aid in rescue operations.
The robo-hopper is a fascinating robot and I like robots as it helps man do something which is difficult for him to do. Robotics are also used in those jobs where there is hazard for man biologically!
